True Lemon: FREE Gift For Military Spouses (Facebook)

True Lemon is offering a special "thank you" to military spouses.  Check out what they just posted on their Facebook wall:

It’s Military Spouse Appreciation Day & we hope you’ll join us in honoring the contributions & special sacrifices of spouses of our Armed Forces members. If you know someone who is supporting one of our soldiers, please say “thanks”. If you’re a military spouse, email customercare@truecitrus.com w/ your contact info & where your spouse served/is serving & to receive a “True Gift” as a small token of our appreciation.

I think that it is great when companies and individuals acknowledge the sacrifices of military men and women and their families. As a military wife myself I truly appreciate it. =0)

Thanks, Hip2Save

Sears Heroes At Home Wish Registry For Active Duty Military Now Open *UPDATED

**UPDATED- Due to an overwhelming response they have closed enrollment.

*The site is running very slow........just hang in there until it goes through.  I had to do it several times before I got a confirmation page.

Are you currently serving on Active Duty for the military?  If so, you can apply for the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry and have the opportunity to receive a gift card to Sears (also works at Kmart and Land's End). The application is open today and is currently scheduled to close on Oct 15th.  You will be notified by Oct. 27th via email about your status.

The money for the gift cards is collected through donations and is evenly distributed to all registered members.  Last year they distributed $6.7 Million to over 20,000 military members.  Go HERE for terms and conditions.

Gift Fulfillment (from terms and conditions):

If you are selected for the Registry, and if donations are received, Sears will send you an e-gift card to the email address you provide on or about November 22, 2010, December 21, 2010 and January 7, 2011. Once disbursed, the e-gift card amounts will be available for immediate use. Having an Account or Wish Profile in the Registry is no guarantee that any wish will be fulfilled or that you or your family will receive anything. All applicant submissions and content contained in the submission shall become the property of Sears and may be used by Sears to promote or publicize an applicant’s Wish Profile, the Registry or any portion thereof, or may otherwise be utilized by Sears in any other advertising or media in Sears discretion. Sears reserves the right to modify or cancel the Wish Registry program at any time and Sears decisions are final as to all matters relating to the Registry.

*This is the first year that my husband has registered for this program.  Good Luck, baby! ;0)

Thanks, Hip2Save.

Military Discount At Home Depot And Lowe's

Home Depot and Lowe's now offer their 10% military discount all year long!  Just ask for it and show your ID.

This is an excerpt from an email that someone else received concerning Home Depot's policy for the new discount (Lowe's policy -from what I hear is pretty similar):

Effective March 1st, 2010 we will offer, when asked, a 10 percent discount, up to a $500 maximum, to all active, reserve, retired or disabled veterans and their family members with a valid military ID. All other military veterans will qualify for a 10 percent discount during normal holiday events (e.g., Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Independence Day). This philosophy is consistent with our long standing price match guarantee.

Please note that The Home Depot will offer a 10% Military discount up to $500.00 maximum. The Military discount cannot be combined with any other promotions and are NOT offered online through homedepot.com. During normal holiday events, it's Store Manager's discretion to offer the discount without a Military ID.

*I love companies that offer military discounts not just because my family can take advantage of the offers (my husband is an active duty member of the Idaho National Guard) but because I can see first hand what these men and women who serve and their families have to sacrifice and I think that it's great that companies acknowledge it.
