This is an excerpt from an email that someone else received concerning Home Depot's policy for the new discount (Lowe's policy -from what I hear is pretty similar):
Effective March 1st, 2010 we will offer, when asked, a 10 percent discount, up to a $500 maximum, to all active, reserve, retired or disabled veterans and their family members with a valid military ID. All other military veterans will qualify for a 10 percent discount during normal holiday events (e.g., Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Independence Day). This philosophy is consistent with our long standing price match guarantee.
Please note that The Home Depot will offer a 10% Military discount up to $500.00 maximum. The Military discount cannot be combined with any other promotions and are NOT offered online through homedepot.com. During normal holiday events, it's Store Manager's discretion to offer the discount without a Military ID.
*I love companies that offer military discounts not just because my family can take advantage of the offers (my husband is an active duty member of the Idaho National Guard) but because I can see first hand what these men and women who serve and their families have to sacrifice and I think that it's great that companies acknowledge it.
