Old Navy--Operation Care and Comfort--Support The Troops

This July 1st through the 5th you can donate new everyday items to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan at any Old Navy store and get a coupon for 10% of your entire purchase that day.  In addition to that, buy an Old Navy Famous Flag Tee for $5 and Old Navy will donate one to the Troops (in Iraq and Afghanistan) up to 500,000.

I was very excited to see this!  My husband served in Iraq from 2004-2005 and his unit is preparing to deploy again this fall.  I know that the soldiers loved getting things from home and knowing that people back home supported them- it makes it a little easier sacrificing time spent away from family and roughing it in the desert when you know that people support you.

Here is a short list of some needed/most used items:

Underwear
Undershirts
T-shirts
Socks
Sunglasses
Lip Balm
Foot Powder
Flip Flops (they use these to take showers) * Saturday Flip Flops will be $1 limit of 5- print this Facebook coupon and bring it with you (do not have to "like" in order to get the coupon)

*When my husband was in Iraq I couldn't send anything flammable like hand sanitizer, shaving cream, wipes, etc. and that probable still applies.

The donated items will be sorted, packaged and shipped to the deployed troops by Operation:  Care and Comfort.
